Language

Well Tommy is slowly starting to conquer the English language. He now says Mommy, daddy, wow, ok and yah. Well at least I know that is what he is saying. He will also sometime roar like a lion, a quiet lion.

where's Brooklynn

Yuck!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I dont put up much stuff on here, but I am going to try and do better. I have this funny story that I just had to share.

Brooklynn and I were driving in my car one night and she of course was in the back car seat and she says " MMM good", I said what's good baby, then she proceeds to say " BOOGERS". I laughed and said gross Brooklynn. It was very funny.

First Steps!

Tommy took his first REAL steps today. Unfortunately neither Mike nor the camcorder got to see it. Just me. We were able to get him to take a few more steps for the camera though.

He is just growing up so fast!

First Corndog

The kid continues to baffle me. at lunch he refused to eat his sweet potatoes and carrots unless the carrots were mashed too, but he goes over to Brooklynn's and proceeds to eat half a corndog! Crazy child.

Food Struggles

We are trying to get Tommy to eat regular food now and he is putting up quite a fight. If we are in a restaurant and he is distracted he will eat just about anything we put in his mouth, but if we try the same things at home he immediately spits them out or won't open his mouth at all!! The other night he even gagged himself so he threw up the little bit we had been able to get down his throat. He just loves lemons, he will suck the life out of lemon wedge. It is quite entertaining.

We have also been trying some of the Gerber Graduate foods but no luck there for the most part. He is now completely on Soy milk no cows milk at all so that poses more problems. We got him to eat some Gerber Stage 3 spaghetti with meat sauce yesterday before I realized that there was milk in it. Boy did he have some gas last night phewwww..

Everyone keeps telling me I have to be patient, he will start eating eventually. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Brooklynn update

Brooklynn is growing up so fast. and getting very smart. She can count to 10 in English and to 6 in spanish. She sure does take after her Aunt Danielle.

At Tommy's birthday party she just helped herself to the food. She sure did love the chocolate sauce on the apples.

Tommy is one

This past Saturday we had Tommy's 1st birthday party. There were 7 babies, 2 years of age or younger, in our little townhouse.

The theme was Sesame Street, Elmo primarily. We watched The Red Furry Monster Parade again and again and again. ( whatever keeps them happy right)

The birthday cake was Confetti cupcakes with Yellow frosting. I thought that would be easier to clean than chocolate frosting. Michael was a little disappointed that it was not chocolate, but I did not hear any complaints from Tommy.

One year ago....

......last Thursday Tommy was born. One year ago today Tommy came home from the hospital and our lives changed forever. For the better of course.

updates

I know it has been forever since I have posted. but holidays were very busy for us all. Just to catch you up and I will post more pictures later.

Over the holidays Tommy cut his fang teeth, both at the same time. He was not a happy camper. Thankfully everyone up in Indy got to see a couple of happy days before the teeth decided to make an appearance.

Then just the other day I noticed another tooth poking up on the right side of his two bottom teeth. They are just coming in like gangbusters.

Tommy just keeps getting smarter everyday, too smart I think sometimes. Like today he wanted to touch the faucet in the bath tub but could not quite reach it, so before I know it he has turned over this little plastic tub we have in the bathroom pushed it over to the tub and was getting ready to climb on top!! I am sure pretty soon I will be grabbing him off the top of the bookshelf :-)

Tommy just loves his Brooklynn and follows her everywhere she goes, much to her annoyance sometimes. Anything she has he wants to get his hands on. I am now spending all day tuesday at the office so Tommy gets to be with his Brooklynn all day. However, we they are both together neither wants to take a nap so by the end of the day they are both kinda grumpy.

Well that is all I got for now.

Update

WEll Tommy can now climb the stairs, and attempts it whenever he sees an opening. Unfortanately because of the way our stairs are, we have not found a wide enough gate the cover the opening so we are having to use our laundry baskets, full of clothes (they are clean at least).

He can also reach the tops of our night stands now and this morning proceeded to pull everything off mine. He laughed every time he pulled something new the the ground. He was just having a grand ole time.

Cousin Brooklynn loves to come up to him and go "Boo". Both and he and she thinks it is halarious. Last Sautrday he started doing it too, but doesn't wait for anyone else to laugh he just does it himself.

Uh oh! better go he is trying to stuff something down the floor vent.

Well Nana and Papa have left the building. They left here on Wednesday morning and poor Tommy kept looking for them all day. Tommy really loved having his Nana and Papa here for a few days. He sends his kisses. Smooch!!!

Grand Illumination

Every year here in Chattanooga they light up the downtown with Christmas lights on the day after Thanksgiving. This was Tommy first Grand Illumination. We were blessed with mild weather so the little boy didn't get too cold.

Here is Tommy all bundled up.

Daddy and Tommy are both enjoying the fireworks.

In the end Tommy just couldn't handle any more excitement.
